Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday accused the Congress government in Telangana of failing to fulfil its promises and claimed that people across the state were looking towards a KCR return to restore development and welfare.
Addressing a meeting of key BRS workers in Sathupalli of Khammam district, KTR alleged that the Congress government had deceived farmers, students, youth, women and weaker sections. He said the only task left before the people was to remove what he described as an anti-people government from power.
KTR questioned the benefits received by Khammam district despite having three ministers in the State Cabinet holding important portfolios. According to him, the district had not witnessed any significant gains under the present administration.
He also targeted Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over crop procurement policies. KTR said the Chief Minister was now stating that Telangana could procure only the quantity permitted by the Centre. However, he recalled that Revanth Reddy had earlier promised complete crop procurement and bonus payments to farmers.
KTR accused the government of delaying procurement operations and neglecting Rythu Bharosa assistance. He also alleged that farmers were facing difficulties due to inadequate fertiliser availability.
KCR return claim dominates BRS attack
The BRS leader further raised concerns over pending fee reimbursement dues and demanded their immediate release. He said students and unemployed youth were becoming increasingly frustrated due to unfulfilled promises made by the Congress government.
Moreover, KTR alleged that the administration had weakened several welfare and development programmes introduced during the BRS tenure. He specifically referred to irrigation projects, including the Seetharama project, and claimed that the government was reversing progress achieved during the previous decade.
Highlighting the KCR return narrative, KTR maintained that the foundations laid during the BRS government had accelerated Telangana’s growth and development. He argued that people were now seeking the return of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership.
Referring to organisational matters, KTR urged party workers to remain alert during the statewide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He asked cadres to ensure that no eligible voter’s name was deleted. He also called upon party members to make the upcoming digital membership drive a success.
