Women empowerment conference highlights opportunities for women in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Women empowerment conference held in Hyderabad marked the launch of the India chapter of the Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA), with Labour Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy stressing that women can achieve extraordinary success when given opportunities and support.

The conference took place at the Jubilee Hills Convention Centre on Wednesday. It focused on women’s empowerment, employment opportunities and the global impact of rural women.

A large number of women, young professionals and students attended the programme. WETA founder Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy organised the event.

Ministers Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman, along with several dignitaries, participated in the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Vivek Venkatswamy praised organisations that work to strengthen women economically, socially and politically. He said such initiatives create opportunities for women to contribute more actively to society.

The Minister described the journey of Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy as inspirational. He noted that she started as a homemaker, became a successful entrepreneur and later established WETA in the United States before expanding its activities to India.

Women empowerment conference focuses on leadership and participation

Vivek Venkatswamy also praised women leaders who moved from homemaking roles into public life and leadership positions. He said greater participation of women in politics and decision-making bodies remains essential for inclusive development.

The Minister observed that women are achieving success in education, employment, entrepreneurship, administration and politics. Moreover, he said society cannot achieve balanced growth without their active involvement.

Referring to his own family, he said women have excelled in education, business and professional careers. Therefore, he stressed that family support and encouragement play a critical role in helping women achieve their goals.

He urged families to respect women’s time, efforts and aspirations. Furthermore, he said women who successfully balance family responsibilities and social contributions deserve stronger recognition.

The Minister expressed confidence that programmes planned by the WETA India Telangana Chapter would benefit women, young girls and students. He also conveyed his best wishes to Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy and the organisation for its future initiatives.
