Hyderabad: The Almas Khan protest escalated on Tuesday after Telangana Youth Congress State General Secretary Almas Khan condemned the police crackdown on students protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
Khan accused the Centre of suppressing students instead of answering their questions. He claimed the government used force against peaceful protesters.
He also alleged that police detained and mistreated Congress leaders who joined the demonstration. Furthermore, Khan claimed police assaulted and detained him during a peaceful protest at the BJP office in Hyderabad.
He said students would continue to raise their voices despite the crackdown. He added that no government could silence their demands for justice.

The Almas Khan protest also criticised the alleged use of force against political workers. Khan warned that the Youth Congress would continue its democratic campaign against what he called repression.
He said the organisation would document every alleged incident. Moreover, he pledged to continue the movement under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
Khan demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He also urged citizens to keep questioning the government.
Finally, he said the Youth Congress would continue peaceful protests until authorities addressed students’ concerns.
