Bharat Innovates 2026 launched to strengthen India-France deep tech partnership
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France. The event aims to strengthen cooperation in deep technology, education, innovation and entrepreneurship between the two nations.
The Ministry of Education organised the inaugural edition at the Palais des Expositions. Moreover, the platform brought together Indian innovators, global investors, industries and academic institutions.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal welcomed the dignitaries during the opening session. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Principal Scientific Adviser Ajay Kumar Sood also attended the programme.
India and France advance DeepTech collaboration
Prime Minister Modi said India continues to innovate with scale and speed. He added that innovation supports sustainable development and global progress.
Meanwhile, President Emmanuel Macron praised India’s growing innovation ecosystem. He said the event represented the strong scientific and industrial partnership between India and France.
The leaders visited the Innovation Pavilion displaying 120 technologies developed by Indian startups and higher education institutions. The technologies covered artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology, healthcare, energy, mobility and space sectors.
The three-day programme includes 11 panel discussions, masterclasses and investor meetings. In addition, more than 50 startups will present their ideas to investors and industry representatives.
The programme also creates opportunities for collaboration among startups, universities, companies and policymakers. Therefore, Bharat Innovates 2026 will help expand global partnerships for Indian technology innovators.
Furthermore, the initiative demonstrates the shared commitment of India and France towards future technologies, research and entrepreneurship. As a result, it is expected to strengthen India’s role in the global innovation ecosystem.
