Coal dispatch target Sathupalli CHP set at 50,000 tonnes

Hyderabad: Singareni CMD Dr. Buddaprakash Jyoti set a coal dispatch target of up to 50,000 tonnes per day for the Sathupalli Coal Handling Plant during a review meeting.

He directed officials to ensure full-capacity coal transportation from the facility. As part of the coal dispatch target, he instructed teams to maintain daily movement between 45,000 and 50,000 tonnes.

Moreover, he asked officials to identify and resolve technical bottlenecks affecting operations. He stressed that uninterrupted coal evacuation was critical for meeting production goals.

Coal dispatch target linked to capacity optimisation at plants

During the review at Singareni Bhavan, the CMD assessed operations at the JVR Coal Handling Plant. Officials said the plant currently handles over 10 million tonnes annually.

He instructed teams to fix issues in coal bunkers and streamline handling systems. In addition, he emphasised better coordination between production and transport units.

Officials informed him that JVR-2 Opencast Mine has a production target of 11 million tonnes. Similarly, Kishtaram Opencast Mine aims to produce 2.4 million tonnes.

The CMD also reviewed progress at the Naini Coal Block in Odisha. He set a production and transport target of 6 million tonnes for the current financial year.

Meanwhile, he directed officials to address logistical challenges at the site. He suggested using interim road transport to nearby railway sidings until corridor works are completed.

Area General Manager Chintala Srinivas briefed the CMD on steps to improve CHP utilisation. General Manager Baidya explained arrangements for coal transport and manpower deployment.

Senior officials, including directors and executive staff, attended the meeting and reviewed implementation timelines.
