Dharmendra Pradhan interacts with PM-YUVA 3.0 authors at World Book Fair

New Delhi: Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday interacted with 43 young writers selected under the PM-YUVA 3.0 programme at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026. He encouraged them to use the mentorship platform to create meaningful and inspiring books.

During the interaction, the authors shared brief outlines of their upcoming manuscripts. They are developing these works under the six-month Prime Minister’s Young Authors Mentorship Scheme. The Minister congratulated them on their selection. He also urged them to motivate India’s youth to read, write, and engage deeply with knowledge.

Highlighting research support, Pradhan stressed the need for easy access to learning resources. He directed the National Book Trust to provide both physical and digital material. Additionally, he said the authors should access academic resources under the ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ initiative. He further suggested linking them with nearby central universities to strengthen research guidance.

PM-YUVA 3.0 authors reflect India’s diversity

Expressing satisfaction, the Minister said the diversity of PM-YUVA 3.0 authors mirrors India’s cultural richness. He noted that the writers are working on themes such as the Indian diaspora’s role in nation-building, the Indian Knowledge System, and the Makers of Modern India.

Moreover, he said the session featured open discussions on culture, technology, and the pursuit of knowledge. He added that the confidence and aspirations of the young authors strengthened his belief in the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Meanwhile, all 43 authors are taking part in a national camp held during the World Book Fair. The fair runs from January 10 to 18 at Bharat Mandapam. The Ministry of Education is organising the event in collaboration with the National Book Trust. Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the fair on January 10.

Overall, the PM-YUVA 3.0 scheme aims to nurture young writers and promote reading and writing across the country. It also seeks to showcase India’s intellectual and cultural diversity. Senior officials from the Ministry of Education, the National Book Trust, and Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya attended the event.
