Dharmendra Pradhan resignation hailed by BRS as victory for students

Hyderabad: BRS Legislature Party Deputy Leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav described the Dharmendra Pradhan resignation as a victory for democracy, students, youth and crores of people. He congratulated the protesting students on behalf of the party and said the country was proud of their movement.

Addressing the media on Saturday, Talasani said the students’ agitation had gained nationwide support. Moreover, he urged both the Central and State governments to act with greater caution in future.

He said the Centre could not ignore the protests despite police lathi-charge, attacks and allegations against the students. Therefore, he claimed the Union government ultimately responded to the agitation.

Talasani said BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao and other party leaders had supported the students because they considered their demands justified. In addition, he urged political parties to honour the promises they make during elections.

He also claimed the students’ movement forced the closure of Parliament gates. Furthermore, he said the protesters answered critics by raising the slogans “Inquilab Zindabad” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

BRS General Secretary Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and former BC Commission member K. Kishore Goud also attended the meeting.
