Hitler remarks row: Sridhar Babu defends Revanth Reddy, attacks BRS criticism

Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu defended Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy amid the Hitler remarks row and accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders of distorting his comments for political purposes. He said critics highlighted a single word from the Chief Minister’s speech at The Hindu Conclave in Bengaluru while ignoring the larger discussion on governance and administration.

The minister said Revanth Reddy spoke about administrative efficiency and the need for firm implementation of government decisions. He maintained that the Chief Minister did not endorse any ideology associated with Adolf Hitler. Instead, he argued that the discussion focused on governance challenges and the protection of public assets.

Sridhar Babu alleged that some opposition leaders deliberately removed the remarks from their original context. He claimed that such selective interpretation created unnecessary controversy and misled the public. According to him, the debate should focus on the government’s efforts to address encroachments and strengthen civic administration.

Sridhar Babu links Hitler remarks row to HYDRAA enforcement

The minister said the Chief Minister referred to the need for strong administrative resolve while discussing action against encroachments. He added that authorities were working to protect lakes, ponds and other public resources from illegal occupation.

Furthermore, Sridhar Babu said HYDRAA had undertaken measures to safeguard water bodies and government land. He alleged that these actions unsettled people who benefited from illegal encroachments in the past. Therefore, he claimed, some political leaders were attempting to shift public attention away from enforcement measures.

The minister also criticised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao. He alleged that KTR commented on the issue without considering the full context of the Chief Minister’s speech. Moreover, he accused opposition parties of turning an administrative discussion into a political controversy.

Sridhar Babu said the government remained focused on governance, infrastructure development and protection of public assets. He added that authorities would continue taking action wherever encroachments threatened lakes or other common resources.

The minister reiterated that the Congress government’s priority was to preserve public land and strengthen urban management. He said political criticism would not deter the administration from pursuing measures aimed at protecting Telangana’s natural and civic assets.
