Hyderabad: Ibrahimpatnam ganja seizure led to the arrest of one person after Excise Police seized more than one kilogram of cannabis during a raid in Ranga Reddy district. Officials launched the operation after receiving information about the alleged transportation of ganja.
Excise Sub-Inspector Basheer supervised the raid near Seetharam Pet in Ibrahimpatnam Municipality on Thursday night. Moreover, the Excise team intercepted the suspects and recovered the contraband from their possession.
One suspected member of the alleged trafficking network was taken into custody. However, two other suspects fled the scene before officers could arrest them. Excise officials have launched a search to trace the absconding accused.
The police shifted the seized ganja to the Ibrahimpatnam Excise Police Station. Furthermore, officials began legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of the law.

Excise officials have started an investigation to identify the remaining suspects. In addition, they are trying to determine the source and intended destination of the seized cannabis.
The department said the probe will continue until investigators identify everyone linked to the alleged trafficking network. Finally, officials said they would take further action based on the outcome of the investigation.
