Journalist accreditation cards remain valid till August 3, orders Telangana High Court

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court extended the validity of existing Journalist accreditation cards until August 3, 2026, while hearing a petition filed by the Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation (TUWJF).

Advocate Barkath Ali Khan represented the petitioner before the court. The High Court ordered officials to accept the existing accreditation cards until the next hearing. Therefore, accredited journalists will continue to receive official recognition during the interim period.

The court also asked the petitioner to submit the list of journalists seeking accreditation extensions. Moreover, the judges noted that the petitioner had already submitted the same list to the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on July 15, 2026.

Journalist accreditation hearing continues on August 3

The High Court directed the petitioner to file the same list before the court. Furthermore, the judges sought the document as part of the ongoing proceedings.

The court scheduled the next hearing for August 3, 2026. Until then, the interim order will keep existing Journalist accreditation cards valid.
