Kavitha slams Congress over employee promises in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha criticised the Congress government for failing to fulfil employee promises, alleging that key assurances remain unimplemented.

She made the remarks in a post on social media platform X. She said the government had not delivered on commitments made to employees, teachers and workers after assuming power.

Kavitha pointed out that the Congress had promised to implement the PRC within six months. However, she said the government had not acted on the promise so far.

Moreover, she said the administration had failed to address several other employee promises. According to her, these included pension reforms and welfare measures.

Employee promises cover PRC, OPS and pending dues

Kavitha criticised the government for not scrapping the Contributory Pension Scheme and restoring the Old Pension Scheme. In addition, she said the employee health scheme remained unimplemented.

She alleged that the government had not cleared retirement dues and medical reimbursements. Furthermore, she questioned the delay in releasing five pending dearness allowance instalments.

Kavitha announced that Telangana Jagruthi would extend full support to protests planned by employees, teachers and workers. She said these protests would take place across the state during lunch hours.

She added that the organisation would continue its fight for employee promises. Meanwhile, she urged the government to respond and resolve pending issues without further delay.
