KTR criticises BJP over Bandi Sai Bhageerath case handling

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the BJP over the handling of the Bandi Sai Bhageerath case registered under the POCSO Act. He alleged that the party followed double standards in the matter.

He said the BJP often speaks about national slogans such as “One Nation-One Tax” and “One Nation-One Election.” However, he claimed that different rules were applied when cases involved leaders’ family members. Moreover, he argued that the law must apply equally to all citizens.

KTR expressed his views in a post on the social media platform X. In addition, he questioned the initial handling of the investigation by police authorities.

Bandi Sai Bhageerath case and allegations of double standards

KTR alleged that authorities applied one standard for children of Union ministers and another for ordinary citizens. Therefore, he said such an approach weakened public trust in the system.

He stated that the POCSO law remains the same for everyone. Consequently, he insisted that enforcement should also remain uniform.

The BRS leader further claimed that police initially invoked different sections in the case. Later, according to him, charges were strengthened after criticism over the investigation.

Meanwhile, he maintained that transparency and consistency were essential in sensitive cases. He urged authorities to follow due process without bias.
