Hyderabad: RTC workers decisions taken by the Telangana government drew praise from union leaders, who met Minister Vivek Venkatswamy and expressed their gratitude.
Leaders of the RTC Joint Action Committee visited the minister’s residence on April 26. They felicitated him for measures aimed at resolving long-pending issues of employees.
Union leaders said the government fulfilled a major demand by merging RTC with the state. They described the move as a key step towards securing workers’ future and strengthening the transport system.
They also welcomed the decision to conduct recognition union elections. In addition, they appreciated the announcement of an 11% PRC for RTC employees. According to them, these measures addressed several longstanding concerns.

Leaders including Venkanna, Thomas Reddy, Ashwaddhama Reddy and Hanumanthu Mudiraj attended the meeting. They said the decisions would improve working conditions and boost morale among employees.
They added that the merger with the government would bring administrative stability. Moreover, they said the PRC hike would provide financial relief to workers.
Union representatives urged employees to respond with renewed commitment. They said better services would strengthen public confidence in RTC operations.
At the same time, they expressed hope that further reforms would continue. They said consistent engagement between the government and workers would ensure long-term improvements.
