KTR criticises Revanth Reddy over public concerns and Musi project spending

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of neglecting public concerns and prioritising the Musi River project over urgent needs. Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan on October 29, KTR questioned the state government’s administrative and financial priorities.

KTR alleged that governance failures had worsened drought-like conditions and drinking water shortages in Hyderabad. He argued that the crisis stemmed not only from natural factors but also from the Congress government’s handling of key issues. These remarks reflect the BRS leader’s allegations against the state administration.

The BRS leader also criticised the government for failing to address problems affecting farmers and residents across Telangana. He claimed that several sectors had faced setbacks since the Congress government assumed office. Instead, he urged the administration to focus on essential services and fulfil its commitments to the public.

KTR questions Musi River project spending

KTR questioned the proposed expenditure on the Musi River project while residents continued to face difficulties. He said the administration had repeatedly cited financial constraints when asked to implement its election promises. Therefore, he sought an explanation for how the government planned to mobilise thousands of crores of rupees for the project.

The BRS working president argued that the administration should prioritise electoral promises, public services and urgent needs over expensive beautification initiatives. He also questioned the justification for allocating substantial public funds to the river project while farmers and Hyderabad residents faced difficulties.

Furthermore, KTR accused the Congress government of placing publicity-oriented programmes ahead of essential public requirements. He urged the administration to address drinking water shortages, agricultural distress and other problems affecting Telangana residents.

Meanwhile, KTR assured residents living along the Musi river basin that the BRS would continue to support their interests. He said the party would stand with affected residents and continue raising their concerns.

The BRS leader reiterated his criticism of the government’s financial management and approach to governance. He maintained that the administration should focus on public welfare and fulfil its promises rather than prioritising projects he described as publicity-driven.
