Bhatinda: UltraTech Bathinda settlements will provide financial benefits worth approximately ₹3.36 crore to 217 workers over five years. Management and workers’ unions signed two agreements on October 14, 2026, following labour conciliation efforts in Jalandhar.
The agreements involve the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC). The Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Jalandhar, facilitated the settlements under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Both agreements aim to secure financial benefits for workers. They also seek to promote harmonious industrial relations through constructive dialogue between employees and management.
UltraTech Bathinda settlements include retrospective benefits
A key provision allows workers to receive the agreed benefits retrospectively from the second quarter of the year. However, payments will follow the terms and conditions specified in each agreement.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Jalandhar, facilitated negotiations through the conciliation machinery under the Office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central). Management representatives and workers’ unions cooperated to reach mutually acceptable terms.
As a result, the settlements demonstrate how conciliation can help resolve industrial disputes and strengthen collective bargaining. The agreements are expected to deliver financial benefits to all 217 workers over the next five years.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment said the outcome reflects its commitment to protecting workers’ interests and promoting fair labour practices. Furthermore, the agreements highlight the importance of constructive engagement between employers and employees in maintaining stable industrial relations.
