New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India announced that authorised Aadhaar Centres will soon be displayed on Google Maps following a collaboration with Google to improve public access nationwide.
Under the initiative, residents will be able to locate authorised Aadhaar Centres based on the services offered. These include adult enrolment, child enrolment and updates to address or mobile number. As a result, users can identify the right centre before planning a visit.
In addition, the listing will display accessibility details wherever applicable. Information such as divyang-friendly infrastructure, parking availability and operating hours will also appear. Therefore, residents can make informed decisions about visiting the nearest centre.
Officials said the facility will become available in the coming months. The collaboration aims to enhance convenience and reduce misinformation by directing users only to verified locations.
Authorised Aadhaar Centres to show verified service details
UIDAI stated that the move will provide seamless access to over 60,000 authorised Aadhaar Centres across the country, including Aadhaar Seva Kendras. When users search on Google Maps, the platform will guide them to verified centres instead of unverified listings.
UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said the authority remains focused on improving ease of living for Aadhaar number holders. He stated that the partnership will make navigation simpler, faster and more transparent.
In the next phase, UIDAI will use Google Business Profile to manage centre information and respond directly to public feedback. Consequently, this step will help build a more transparent and responsive service ecosystem.
Furthermore, both organisations plan to explore direct appointment booking through the Google Maps interface. This feature will allow residents to schedule visits efficiently and reduce waiting time.
Roli Agarwal, Country Head, Strategic Partnerships at Google India, said the integration will help millions find trusted government services with confidence. She added that the effort bridges essential public infrastructure with the people who need it most.
