Hyderabad: Journalist leaders on Tuesday met Mukunda Reddy following the Mukunda Reddy appointment as Special Commissioner of the Information and Public Relations Department.
The delegation visited him at the State Secretariat and conveyed greetings after he assumed charge. Several representatives from journalist unions took part in the meeting.
Hyderabad Union of Journalists President Shiga Shankar attended the interaction. In addition, Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation General Secretary Ghouse Mohiuddin joined the delegation. Video Journalists Union President Vanam Nagaraju also participated.
Mukunda Reddy appointment leads to welfare discussions
During the meeting, the leaders raised issues related to journalist welfare and media sector development. They also discussed coordination between media professionals and the department.
Furthermore, the delegation requested positive support to resolve issues faced by journalists across the state. They said stronger cooperation would help address welfare concerns faster.
Mukunda Reddy assured them of constructive engagement on matters concerning the journalism community. Meanwhile, the leaders presented a bouquet and extended formal congratulations after the interaction.
The meeting gained importance as journalist bodies continued to seek improved welfare measures. The department plays a key role in government communication and media coordination in Telangana.
