Hyderabad: Minister Vivek Venkatswamy held talks with an Israeli delegation to expand overseas jobs opportunities for skilled youth from Telangana.
The meeting took place at the TOMCOM office in Hyderabad. It focused on deploying construction workers to Israel’s renovation sector. Moreover, the programme is being implemented with support from the National Skill Development Corporation International and Israeli authorities.
Officials said the Israeli side has sought 1,200 skilled workers for renovation activities. Therefore, Telangana has begun training and assessment processes to meet this demand.
The Minister said such initiatives would help youth access global employment opportunities. He added that structured training and certification would improve their prospects abroad.
Overseas jobs programme advances with training and selection
As part of the overseas jobs initiative, authorities conducted a pre-skill assessment for 4,247 candidates in November 2025. Out of them, 2,059 candidates qualified for the next stage.
Currently, final skill assessments are underway for 1,200 shortlisted candidates. These tests are being conducted from May 5 to May 10, 2026 under the first phase.
Training covers trades such as ceramic tiling, plastering, block masonry, and drywall installation. Therefore, candidates are being prepared to meet international standards.
Officials said the collaboration could expand further based on demand. In addition, it may open new pathways for skilled workers from the state.
Senior officials from the Labour Department and TOMCOM attended the meeting. They discussed ways to strengthen partnerships and streamline deployment processes.
The government said the overseas jobs programme aims to enhance employment prospects and support skill development among youth in Telangana.
