Hyderabad Police launches Soceye AI surveillance platform

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police launched the Soceye AI surveillance platform to monitor harmful social media content and strengthen preventive cyber policing across the city.

Police officials said “SOCEYE – Social Media Observation and Cyber Intelligence” used Artificial Intelligence to track cyber troublemakers, analyse online trends, and identify content that could disturb public order.

The department stated that the platform automated several monitoring tasks that earlier required continuous manual tracking across multiple social media platforms. Moreover, the system provided real-time surveillance, content analysis, and investigation support through a unified dashboard.

Officials said the platform integrated Dial-100 alerts, intelligence inputs, and city event feeds to improve situational awareness for law enforcement agencies.

During the pilot phase, the Soceye AI surveillance system identified 85 hateful and communally sensitive posts linked to the Puranapul X Road incident. It also detected 126 objectionable posts connected to the Gudimalkapur issue.

Police initiated takedown measures and identified suspected troublemakers after analysing the flagged posts. According to officials, the system helped authorities maintain peace and public order during sensitive situations.

Police said the platform continuously monitored communal social media handles and cyber troublemakers across digital platforms. In addition, the system focused on cases linked to narcotics and women’s safety.

The AI platform automatically detected content related to CSAM, cyberbullying, and online stalking activities. It then classified posts into High, Medium, and Low-risk categories for faster response.

Officials stated that the system also analysed sharing networks to identify accounts amplifying sensitive content. Therefore, the platform significantly reduced the need for manual social media monitoring.

The department introduced an automated grievance tracking feature through the new platform. Complaints received through Hyderabad City Police social media accounts were automatically categorised and assigned tracking IDs.

Police said the system tracked complaints from receipt to final disposal while identifying recurring issues and sensitive locations across the city.

The Soceye AI surveillance platform also created keyword-based monitoring systems during protests, religious processions, and large public gatherings. Officials said the feature helped authorities identify possible law and order threats at an early stage.

Furthermore, the platform included integrated SOCMINT and OSINT tools to support cybercrime investigations and digital evidence analysis.

Officials added that the platform featured a high-speed global search engine capable of scanning public social media profiles and aggregating posts linked to specific keywords instantly.
