Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Revanth government over paddy procurement delays, alleged land irregularities and the handling of a POCSO case involving Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son.
Addressing a media conference at Telangana Bhavan, KTR alleged that the Revanth government had failed to protect farmers’ interests during the ongoing procurement season. He claimed procurement centres were not lifting paddy stocks on time and said farmers were staging protests in several districts.
KTR stated that the government had not completed even 35 per cent procurement despite ministers claiming that more than 50 per cent procurement was already over. He challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to visit villages and verify the procurement situation on the ground.
The BRS leader also accused Congress leaders of illegally occupying lands in different parts of Telangana. He alleged that Congress MLA Vem Narender Reddy occupied assigned lands in Kesamudram under the name of “Bhu Harathi”.
He further claimed that associates of the Chief Minister secured 90 acres of ceiling land in Shamshabad by exerting pressure on revenue officials. According to KTR, the matter surfaced during an ACB investigation.
Revanth government accused over POCSO case handling
KTR also targeted the Revanth government and BJP leaders over the handling of a POCSO case involving Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son. He alleged that authorities protected the accused for nine days before making an arrest.
He questioned why police delayed action despite allegations involving a minor girl. KTR also demanded action against BJP leaders and media organisations that allegedly revealed the identity of the victim.
Further, the BRS leader demanded the resignation of Bandi Sanjay Kumar over the controversy. He also challenged Revanth Reddy to dissolve the Assembly and seek a fresh public mandate.
KTR said the BRS would continue its political and legal fight despite what he described as pressure from the Revanth government.
