Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed confidence that a BJP government in Telangana would come to power in the next election. He said people in the State wanted political change. Moreover, he stated that voters were disappointed with both the Congress and the BRS.
He addressed a public meeting organised by the Telangana BJP at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. During the event, he said recent BJP victories across the country showed growing public trust. In addition, he said citizens supported the party’s governance and development model.
Modi said Telangana had played an important role in the BJP’s growth. He recalled that one of the party’s earliest Members of Parliament was elected from the region. At that time, the BJP had only two MPs nationwide.
He added that the development of India depended on strong state-level progress. Therefore, he said Telangana and Hyderabad would contribute significantly to the vision of a developed India by 2047. He linked this goal to infrastructure expansion and industrial growth.
BJP government in Telangana will focus on development and industry
The Prime Minister referred to several projects launched earlier in the day. He said these initiatives would create jobs and strengthen industrial activity. Furthermore, he highlighted the Zaheerabad industrial corridor and the PM MITRA textile park in Warangal as major employment drivers.
He also announced that the Centre approved a new cotton mission. According to him, the initiative would improve cotton production and quality. As a result, cotton farmers in Telangana would benefit from better output and support measures.
Meanwhile, Modi criticised the Congress party for making election promises without delivering results. He alleged that Congress governments failed to implement commitments after coming to power. In addition, he accused the party of promoting divisive politics.
He said Telangana was gradually moving away from extremist influence. Therefore, he stated that a BJP government would work with a new vision and stronger commitment. He assured continued focus on development and governance reforms.
Modi also discussed global economic challenges, including fuel price volatility and supply chain disruptions. Consequently, he urged citizens to reduce petrol and diesel consumption. He encouraged greater use of public transport.
Furthermore, he appealed to people to support the “Vocal for Local” initiative. He asked citizens to promote indigenous products and strengthen domestic industries. He also encouraged natural farming and reduced dependence on chemical fertilisers.
Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the meeting. Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, BJP OBC Morcha president K. Laxman and BJP national vice-president D. K. Aruna were also present. Meanwhile, police imposed traffic restrictions across several routes in Hyderabad during the visit.
