New Delhi: Government of India recognised outstanding DigiLocker integration efforts by five states during a national workshop on cybersecurity frameworks for state data. The felicitation highlighted progress in digital governance and citizen service delivery. Officials honoured Gujarat, Karnataka, Keralam, Nagaland and Rajasthan for large-scale implementation.
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) promoted DigiLocker integration to connect citizen services with digital platforms. The initiative aims to simplify document access and reduce physical verification. It also strengthens Digital Public Infrastructure and improves ease of living.
The felicitation took place during the National Consultative Workshop held on May 11, 2026. Senior officials from MeitY and cybersecurity institutions attended the event. Shri Nand Kumarum conferred the recognition in the presence of key dignitaries from the digital governance ecosystem.
Gujarat onboarded 65% of its services onto DigiLocker platforms. It expanded access to over 1.92 crore citizens. In addition, the state introduced digital disability certificates for free bus transport. This innovation strengthened DigiLocker integration in public transport services.
Karnataka achieved 73% onboarding of government e-services. More than 2.7 crore citizens use DigiLocker accounts in the state. Moreover, all five electricity distribution companies integrated digitised records. This enabled access to nearly 3 crore electricity bill documents.
Keralam completed onboarding of over 117 services within seven days. The state serves more than 1.15 crore registered users. Officials credited coordinated efforts across departments for rapid DigiLocker integration.
Nagaland earned recognition as a ‘Digital Rising State’. It integrated more than 32 services within one month. The state implemented both issuer and requestor models. Therefore, it demonstrated strong commitment to digital transformation.

States accelerate DigiLocker integration for citizen services
Rajasthan launched Family Register Jan Aadhaar integration with DigiLocker. The system now serves over 7.5 crore citizens. The state also onboarded electricity bill services and expanded digital records. These measures enhanced DigiLocker integration across welfare platforms.
Officials said secure and interoperable systems remain central to digital governance. They emphasised that citizen-centric platforms reduce paperwork and improve transparency. Consequently, states can deliver services faster and more efficiently.
The workshop reinforced cooperation between the Centre and states. It encouraged scalable digital platforms for public service delivery. Authorities stated that continued DigiLocker integration will strengthen trusted digital governance across India.
