New Delhi: Ministry of Defence signed a Rs 449 crore contract with Accord Software and Systems Private Limited, Bengaluru, for the procurement of 20 Indian Navy GNSS jammers with at least 75 per cent indigenous content.
The agreement was signed under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi on June 10, 2026.
The advanced systems can disrupt enemy Global Navigation Satellite System receivers by degrading signal acquisition and tracking capabilities. They can also perform signal spoofing and deceptive jamming during operations.
Indian Navy GNSS jammers enhance maritime operations
The induction of these systems will enable safer operations for Indian Navy ships in complex and multi-threat environments. Moreover, the project strengthens the country’s maritime security architecture.
The contract highlights the government’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India by promoting indigenous defence technologies. Furthermore, it supports domestic industries involved in developing advanced military equipment.
Accord Software and Systems will manufacture the systems with significant local content. Consequently, the project will reduce dependence on foreign defence technologies and boost India’s self-reliance in critical sectors.
