New Delhi: The Ministry of Minority Affairs on Wednesday said minority welfare schemes remain a top priority, stressing inclusive development and effective implementation.
Secretary Dr. Srivatsa Krishna chaired a review meeting with the Karnataka government. The meeting assessed progress under key schemes, including PMJVK, PM VIKAS, scholarships, and UMEED.
Officials discussed steps to accelerate project execution and improve outreach. They also focused on ensuring timely and transparent delivery of benefits at the grassroots level.
Karnataka Secretary Dr. Shamla Iqbal presented details of initiatives under these schemes. She outlined ongoing efforts to support socio-economic development and infrastructure growth.

Dr. Srivatsa Krishna directed officials to expedite pending projects. He also urged the state to propose innovative and impactful initiatives under ministry schemes.
He emphasised the need for strong coordination between the Centre and the state. Such collaboration, he said, would help achieve inclusive growth and empower minority communities.
The review covered areas such as education, skill development, and infrastructure. In addition, officials highlighted the importance of improving scheme delivery systems.
Senior officers from both the Centre and Karnataka attended the meeting. They agreed to strengthen monitoring and ensure faster implementation of programmes.
The ministry said it would continue to prioritise welfare initiatives. It added that focused efforts would help improve outcomes for minority communities.
