Ramchander Rao backs RTC strike, criticises Congress over worker issues

Hyderabad: Ramchander Rao extended support to the ongoing RTC strike and criticised the Congress government over its handling of workers’ issues.

He visited the protest camp at Musheerabad and interacted with employees participating in the agitation. He said the party stands firmly with workers seeking resolution of their demands.

Rao alleged that the government adopted an indifferent and rigid approach towards RTC employees. He said this forced workers to intensify their protest.

BJP extends support to RTC strike

He said the BJP would continue to back the RTC strike and stand by employees until their demands are met. He added that the party would persist in raising the issue.

Referring to the death of driver Shankar Goud, Rao expressed grief and conveyed condolences to the family. He also pointed to earlier suicide attempts by workers, calling them a sign of the seriousness of the situation.

He alleged that the government ignored prior notices issued by employees. Therefore, he held it responsible for the current developments.

Rao demanded immediate ex-gratia for the deceased worker’s family. Moreover, he urged the government to initiate talks with employees and resolve their concerns without delay.
