New Delhi: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch PMAY-G Grih Pravesh for 5 lakh completed houses in Satara, Maharashtra, on 15 May 2026. The programme will take place at Sainik School Ground. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other senior leaders will attend the event. The ceremony will highlight rural housing progress under the scheme.
During the event, the minister will hand over house keys to six beneficiaries. One beneficiary is linked to the completion of the 3 croreth house under the scheme. This milestone marks a major achievement in rural housing. Officials said the initiative supports eligible rural families across the country.
PMAY-G Grih Pravesh approvals and rural projects in Maharashtra
The government will issue a Mother Sanction for Maharashtra under PMAY-G Grih Pravesh. The central share will total ₹8,368.50 crore for FY 2026-27. In addition, the minister will approve 35 road works under PMGSY-IV. These projects will cost ₹122.98 crore and cover 95.99 km. They will benefit 35 rural habitations.
The housing scheme aims to provide pucca homes with basic facilities to rural households. So far, authorities have allocated 4.15 crore houses to States and Union Territories. Of these, 3.91 crore houses received sanction. More than 3.03 crore houses were completed as of 11 May 2026. In Maharashtra, 41.42 lakh houses were sanctioned against a target of 43.80 lakh. Officials completed 17.92 lakh houses.
The programme will also include state-level awards under Maha Awaas Abhiyan 2023-24. Authorities will release a booklet and a quarterly magazine during the ceremony. The event will combine housing milestones with new infrastructure approvals to support rural development in Maharashtra.
