Telangana pushes medical devices manufacturing with ready infrastructure

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the state had built strong infrastructure to accelerate medical devices manufacturing and enable immediate industrial operations. He stated that facilities at the Medical Devices Park in Genome Valley were ready for use without delay.

During a meeting with MedTech industrialists and university researchers from the Netherlands at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the minister outlined Telangana’s industrial advantages. He said the state offered a supportive ecosystem for research, artificial intelligence, and medical devices manufacturing.

He added that Telangana ranked among the top states in pharmaceutical production, innovation, and vaccine manufacturing. Moreover, he recalled that biotech firms from the state supplied vaccines to 120 countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The minister stressed that reliable power, water supply, and land availability supported industrial growth. He noted that these factors made Telangana attractive for global investors.

AI expansion strengthens medical devices manufacturing ecosystem

He said opportunities in artificial intelligence within healthcare were expanding rapidly. These included imaging systems, clinical validation tools, and digital health profiles.

In addition, he highlighted that the state’s skilled workforce had attracted major global pharmaceutical and biotech firms. He urged stronger collaboration with local universities to boost research and innovation.

A delegation led by Netherlands Innovation Counselor Jan Reint Smit attended the meeting. Senior officials, including IT Advisor I. Sai Krishna and Industries Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarthy, were also present.
