New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse PM-VBRY incentives worth around ₹2,400 crore at a special programme in New Delhi on June 19.
The event will take place at Vigyan Bhawan at 5 pm. The disbursal marks a major milestone for the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). Moreover, the programme highlights the government’s focus on employment-led growth.
The scheme aims to accelerate job creation, formalise employment and expand social security coverage. So far, it has facilitated employment for about 15 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
Under the programme, first-time employees can receive incentives of up to ₹15,000. As a result, new entrants can secure financial support while joining the formal workforce.
Employers who create additional jobs can receive incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional employee. Therefore, the scheme encourages sustained employment generation across sectors.
PM-VBRY incentives support workers and employers
The government has introduced separate incentive periods for different sectors. For instance, manufacturing employers can receive benefits for four years. Meanwhile, employers in other sectors can avail incentives for two years.
PM-VBRY came into effect on August 1, 2025. Furthermore, the scheme carries a total outlay of ₹99,446 crore. It targets the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over two years.
The government expects around 1.92 crore first-time workforce entrants to benefit from the scheme. In addition, the programme encourages participation in the formal economy and strengthens social security coverage.
The government said PM-VBRY incentives will help create quality employment opportunities for young people. Ultimately, the scheme supports the vision of Viksit Bharat and strengthens India’s labour market.
