Revanth Reddy says Viksit Bharat goal depends on education and healthcare

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said India can achieve the Viksit Bharat goal through quality education and improved healthcare services for every citizen.

Addressing the 11th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting in New Delhi, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he described education and healthcare as the pillars of national progress.

Moreover, the Chief Minister called for major educational reforms, stronger skill development and world-class infrastructure.

Viksit Bharat goal depends on social and educational progress

Revanth Reddy said national growth depends on the health and knowledge of citizens. Therefore, education and healthcare play a key role in economic growth and nation-building.

Referring to Telangana’s 2024 Socio-Economic, Educational, Employment and Political Caste Survey, he said the study covered 3.55 crore people from 242 castes.

The survey found education as the main reason behind social backwardness. However, wealth and land ownership had a smaller influence.

The Chief Minister said universal access to quality education remains necessary for achieving national development.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana’s efforts to strengthen government schools and increase student enrolment.

The government introduced English-medium education, digital classrooms and improved teaching facilities. Additionally, it expanded student welfare programmes.

These measures include free breakfast, midday meals, evening snacks, transport facilities and sports infrastructure.

Furthermore, he said students can now study from nursery to intermediate level on the same campus.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Young India Schools will reduce caste divisions and provide wider educational opportunities.
