Hyderabad: Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy launched Mallepally ITI courses at the Advanced Technology Center in Government ITI, Mallepally, on Monday.
The initiative forms part of the Telangana government’s 99-Day Praja Palana – Pragati Action Plan. The minister introduced programmes in CNC machine operation, robotics, EV technology, and 2D and 3D product designing.
He said the new Mallepally ITI courses aim to equip youth with industry-relevant skills. Therefore, the government wants to improve employment prospects for students.
Vivek Venkatswamy said the state launched the 99-day action plan under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. According to him, departments are now implementing several decisions in phases.
He noted that industries often report a shortage of skilled manpower. Therefore, the government decided to train students based on industry needs.
Mallepally ITI courses focus on industry-linked training
The minister said Advanced Technology Centers and ITIs play a key role in preparing skilled professionals. However, he added that one skill is no longer enough in the modern workforce.
Therefore, he advised students to become multi-skilled. He also urged principals to ensure that training systems lead to job opportunities for graduates.
Meanwhile, the minister announced new training programmes in agriculture and allied sectors. The government will run these programmes in rural areas with support from Tata Technologies.
He said productivity in India’s agriculture sector remains lower than global standards. Therefore, skill development programmes will help improve efficiency.
The minister also said officials held discussions with industries in the Genome Valley region. As a result, institutes will soon introduce courses required by those industries.
Vivek Venkatswamy urged students to remain disciplined and continue learning new skills. Curiosity and continuous learning, he said, remain essential for success.
He added that the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company trains students for overseas employment opportunities.
During the event, the minister felicitated Aana Ankura and Kranthi Gopi. Both secured Assistant Nurse positions in Germany after completing German language training through TOMCOM.
The candidates cleared B1 level certification and received their work contracts during the programme. Each will receive a monthly salary package of about ₹3 lakh.
