Hyderabad: Bhatti Vikramarka said AI revenue growth and stricter tax monitoring have significantly improved collections across departments, with notable gains in mining, transport, and commercial taxes.
He chaired a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting on revenue generation and resource mobilisation at the Secretariat on Friday. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao attended the review along with other members.
AI revenue growth improves tax compliance
Bhatti Vikramarka said the government has deployed artificial intelligence tools to track revenue leakages and improve compliance. As a result, departments such as mining and transport reported higher collections.
He also directed officials to intensify action against illegal sand mining, crusher operations, unauthorised transport, and overloading. Moreover, he stressed that strict enforcement would further strengthen AI revenue growth.
GST collections rise with better monitoring
The Deputy Chief Minister said continuous reviews and tighter administration increased GST collections by 15% over the past three months. In addition, the Registration department recorded steady revenue growth during this period.
He added that the sub-committee will meet every Friday to monitor progress and sustain AI revenue growth. Therefore, departments must prepare detailed plans to boost revenue in line with the long-term goal of building a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
Policy measures to expand revenue base
During the meeting, Uttam Kumar Reddy suggested promoting HMDA land sales globally to attract investors and increase revenue. He noted that targeted outreach could improve participation and maximise returns.
Bhatti Vikramarka also instructed Registration department officials to submit land value revision reports before presenting them to the Cabinet. This step, he said, would ensure proper scrutiny and informed decision-making.
Focus on infrastructure and sectoral performance
Ministers reviewed metro rail acquisition, management, revenue, and expenditure. They also discussed progress in revenue generation across the Excise, Revenue, and Industries departments.
Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to present action taken reports in upcoming meetings. Meanwhile, he emphasised that regular monitoring would help track implementation and improve outcomes.
Overall, the government’s focus on technology-driven governance and enforcement continues to drive AI revenue growth, strengthening Telangana’s fiscal position.
