New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch PM Modi projects worth more than ₹21,770 crore in Surat and Daman on June 5. The projects will strengthen infrastructure, healthcare, transport and industrial development.
The Prime Minister will begin his visit in Hazira, Surat. He will review ongoing industrial operations and infrastructure projects. Later, he will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth around ₹18,800 crore.
A key highlight will be the dedication of Packages VI and VII of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway. The corridor will improve travel speed and logistics efficiency. It will also strengthen economic links between Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of important stretches on NH-56. The project will improve connectivity in tribal regions. It will also provide better access to the Statue of Unity.
He will inaugurate a 200-bed ESIC Hospital in Surat. The facility will provide modern healthcare services and round-the-clock emergency care. The Prime Minister will also launch power distribution and industrial infrastructure projects across Gujarat.
PM Modi projects to strengthen connectivity and public services
After the Surat programme, the Prime Minister will travel to Daman. There, he will launch projects worth around ₹2,970 crore across multiple sectors.
He will inaugurate the new terminal building of NAMO Airport. The facility will improve regional air connectivity and support economic activity. He will also dedicate NAMO Hospital to the nation. The hospital can serve nearly 1,500 outpatients every day.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Iconic Bridge, Daman Convention Centre and NIFT campus. These projects will boost tourism, investment and employment opportunities.
He will also lay the foundation stone for four projects worth around ₹885 crore in Lakshadweep. The projects include port facilities and multipurpose jetties at Kalpeni and Kadmat islands.
Officials said the projects will improve passenger and cargo movement. They will strengthen maritime connectivity and support local fishermen. The projects will also promote tourism and support the islands’ economic growth.
