Hyderabad: BRS women issues came under sharp criticism from Telangana Jagruti President K. Kavitha, who said the party’s stance would not change “for a millennium.”
At a media briefing, she said BRS leaders failed to address the Women’s Reservation Bill at a recent public meeting in Jagtial. Although the bill has become a major national topic, the party chose to ignore it. Moreover, she noted that BRS leaders did not criticise the BJP or the Union government during the event.
Therefore, Kavitha alleged that the relationship between BRS and the BJP appeared increasingly evident. She argued that silence on key national issues raised serious political questions.
In addition, she highlighted several governance concerns across Telangana. She pointed to power cuts, drinking water shortages and delays in fee reimbursement. She also mentioned inactive procurement centres, saying farmers continued to face difficulties.
Furthermore, she said RTC employees remained on strike, while artisans had staged protests recently. However, she criticised both Congress and BRS for focusing on political rhetoric instead of addressing public concerns.
BRS women issues and youth concerns raised
Kavitha said political meetings failed to reflect the real problems of citizens. Instead, leaders focused on narratives that did not connect with ground realities. She described it as contradictory for BRS to speak of youth while promoting older leadership figures.
Meanwhile, she questioned the lack of opportunities for young people in the state. She asked why youth were not given space in political decision-making. Consequently, she invited them to join her new political platform, promising better representation.
She also criticised the induction of senior नेता Jeevan Reddy. She alleged that he had opposed Telangana’s formation earlier and later shifted positions for political reasons. Therefore, she said the party must explain its decision to welcome him.
Thus, Kavitha maintained that both governance failures and political choices reflected poorly on the party’s priorities. She reiterated that people expected accountability, not just speeches.
