Drinking water supply review led by Seethakka and Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad: District In-charge Minister Seethakka on Tuesday directed officials to ensure drinking water supply in all villages during a review meeting in Kamareddy.

She chaired the बैठक at the Collector’s office and reviewed irrigation, civil supplies, Indiramma housing, and heatwave preparedness. Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, MP Suresh Shetkar, and District Collector Ashish Sangwan attended the meeting.

Seethakka asked officials to work towards making Kamareddy a model district. Moreover, she instructed the Health Department to stay alert due to rising temperatures and protect public health.

She directed departments to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply across villages. In addition, she called for timely irrigation support and faster completion of Indiramma housing works.

Drinking water supply focus alongside welfare schemes

Shabbir Ali said the government was giving special focus to Kamareddy’s development. He added that coordinated efforts could help the district secure a top position in the State.

He urged officials to prevent lapses in the civil supplies system. Furthermore, he stressed that quality commodities must reach the poor without disruption.

He also asked authorities to take advance steps to avoid drinking water shortages. Meanwhile, he called for awareness campaigns at the village level to prevent heatstroke.

MP Suresh Shetkar highlighted the need for coordination between Central and State schemes. He said effective implementation would benefit farmers through improved irrigation.

He also stressed strict monitoring to speed up housing works. In addition, he urged officials to respond quickly to public grievances.

Separately, Seethakka and Shabbir Ali attended a child safety awareness programme in the district. The initiative focused on issues such as drug abuse, child marriage, and teenage pregnancy.

Officials created awareness on child protection and distributed certificates to children. They also provided bicycles to girls as part of the programme.

Shabbir Ali said the government was prioritising child safety. He added that families must act responsibly to bring social change.

He called for wider awareness drives to eliminate drug abuse. He also said strict laws were being enforced to curb child marriage and teenage pregnancy.
