New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth during the 19th Rozgar Mela on May 23 through video conferencing.
The Prime Minister will also address the gathering at 11 am during the event, which the government described as part of its employment generation initiative.
Officials said the 19th Rozgar Mela would take place at 47 locations across the country. Newly selected candidates from different states will join several ministries and departments of the Central government.
The recruits will join departments including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Department of Financial Services.
The Department of Higher Education and several other government organisations will also recruit candidates through the programme.
Rozgar Mela expands government recruitment drive
According to the government, the Rozgar Mela initiative aims to accelerate recruitment across departments and provide employment opportunities to youth.
Officials stated that nearly 12 lakh recruitment letters were distributed through 18 Rozgar Melas organised across the country since the launch of the programme.
The government said the initiative reflected the Prime Minister’s commitment to prioritising employment generation and speeding up recruitment processes in public sector departments.
