Hyderabad: Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said Advanced Technology Centres are creating new employment opportunities for Telangana youth by equipping them with industry-relevant skills for domestic and global job markets.
The Minister made the remarks during a visit to the Mallepally Advanced Technology Centre along with media representatives. Students and trainers showcased modern infrastructure, advanced equipment and training programmes designed for emerging industries.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said the State Government had transformed conventional Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Technology Centres to meet the demands of the rapidly changing employment landscape. He added that the centres were emerging as gateways to skill development, employment and international career opportunities.
The Minister said the government partnered with Tata Technologies Limited to strengthen Telangana’s skill ecosystem. The initiative attracted investments of nearly ₹4,000 crore and helped establish world-class training facilities across the state.
He also said the government was providing stipends to students enrolled in the centres. This support ensures that financial difficulties do not prevent young people from acquiring advanced technical skills.
The Minister noted that modern training infrastructure would help build a skilled workforce capable of serving future industries. He added that the initiative would improve employment prospects and strengthen Telangana’s position in the skill development sector.
Advanced Technology Centres strengthen future workforce
Describing the Advanced Technology Centres as a golden opportunity, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy urged students to use the facilities effectively. He said discipline, dedication and continuous learning remain essential for success in a competitive job market.
The Minister stated that the centres were laying the foundation for Telangana’s future employment ecosystem. He added that they were preparing young people to compete for opportunities across India and abroad.
He also said the government was conducting extensive training programmes for instructors and faculty members. These efforts ensure that students receive practical education aligned with current industry requirements.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy expressed confidence that the centres would play a key role in developing a highly skilled workforce. He said the initiative would help establish Telangana as one of India’s leading destinations for skill development.
As part of the programme, officials organised a photo exhibition and technology showcase at the Mallepally ITI campus. Students who secured jobs after completing their training shared their experiences with the Minister and media representatives.
The students said the transformation into Advanced Technology Centres improved their skills, enhanced employment opportunities and positively impacted their lives. The Minister appreciated the efforts of officials, trainers and staff for their contribution to youth development and employment generation.
