New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Garib Kalyan remained the top priority of the Narendra Modi-led government. He highlighted welfare programmes launched over the past 12 years to support poor families.
In a post on X, Shah said the government connected crores of citizens to banking services, financial security and self-employment opportunities. He cited schemes such as the food grain programme, PM Awas, Jan-Dhan, Mudra loans and PM SVANidhi.
According to Shah, these initiatives improved access to basic services. As a result, many families gained better financial stability and livelihood opportunities.
He said the government focused on bringing poor households into the economic mainstream. Moreover, he stated that welfare measures helped improve living standards across the country.
Garib Kalyan schemes expand economic inclusion
Shah said welfare programmes strengthened access to housing, banking and entrepreneurship support. Furthermore, he noted that these schemes created opportunities for long-term economic participation.
He added that the government continued to invest in social security and basic infrastructure. Consequently, beneficiaries received greater support for their economic growth.
Meanwhile, Shah said these efforts were helping build the foundation for Viksit Bharat. He maintained that inclusive development would remain a central objective of government policy.
