Telangana Formation Day celebrated in Sangareddy with honours for martyrs’ families

Hyderabad: State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha said the Telangana government was pursuing welfare, development and social justice as key priorities while addressing Telangana Formation Day celebrations in Sangareddy on Tuesday.

The minister attended the district-level event at the Police Parade Ground as the chief guest. He hoisted the national flag and received a ceremonial salute from police personnel. Subsequently, he outlined the government’s welfare programmes, development initiatives and progress achieved in Sangareddy district.

Speaking at the event, Rajanarasimha said Telangana had emerged as a model state in several sectors and continued to advance on the path of development. He also called upon citizens to actively participate in the state’s growth and welfare programmes.

The minister paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana movement. Moreover, he honoured the families of Telangana martyrs and recalled their contribution to the achievement of statehood. According to him, fulfilling the aspirations of the martyrs would be the most meaningful tribute to their sacrifices.

Students presented cultural performances during the celebrations. In addition, the minister distributed appreciation certificates to participants and congratulated them for their efforts.

Rajanarasimha later visited exhibition stalls set up by various government departments. He reviewed their services and interacted with officials to understand ongoing programmes.

Furthermore, the minister distributed laptops to four visually impaired students. He also handed over cheques worth ₹69.19 crore in bank linkage loans to 768 self-help groups. Additionally, he distributed identity cards to transgender beneficiaries.

The minister honoured headmasters who rendered notable services during summer camps conducted in PM SHRI schools. Meanwhile, officials highlighted educational and welfare activities implemented across the district.

Earlier, Rajanarasimha, public representatives and senior officials paid floral tributes at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial near the IB office. District Collector Prateek Jain, Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj and other dignitaries joined the tribute programme.

A large number of public representatives, officials, students and residents attended the celebrations, which marked Telangana Formation Day across Sangareddy district.
