Hyderabad: Labour and Employment Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said a stronger Germany partnership would create new opportunities in skill development, employment generation and industrial cooperation for Telangana youth.
Addressing a high-level delegation from the German state of Thuringia at the Telangana Secretariat, the Minister proposed a dedicated coordination group to explore collaboration in workforce mobility, industry, skills and economic development.
The delegation included Thuringia Minister-President Mario Voigt, Labour Minister Mrs. Schenk, State Secretary Suckert, State Secretary Dr. Teichert, industry representatives, public officials and journalists. Earlier, the delegation met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during its visit to Telangana. The Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) coordinated the visit.
During the discussions, both sides explored overseas employment opportunities, workforce development and industrial collaboration. Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy highlighted initiatives undertaken through TOMCOM to help Telangana youth secure jobs in Germany across multiple sectors.
The Minister said the government had upgraded Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) and introduced industry-focused courses that match global standards and emerging market needs.
Germany partnership strengthens overseas employment efforts
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said ATCs are producing a skilled workforce capable of meeting domestic and international industry requirements. In addition, TOMCOM provides German language training to improve employability and prepare candidates for overseas careers.
The German delegation appreciated the efforts of the Telangana Government, the Labour Department and TOMCOM in equipping young professionals with industry-relevant skills and facilitating international placements.
A group of nurses trained through TOMCOM also interacted with the delegation. They shared their experiences of language training and overseas placement programmes. After completing advanced German language certification, they are set to travel to Germany for employment opportunities.
Furthermore, LETF Secretary Dasari Harichandana explained the technical aspects of the training programmes and highlighted Telangana’s efforts to build a globally competitive workforce.
Officials said the interaction reflected the growing Germany partnership in skilled workforce development, international mobility and employment generation.
